| The History is a
simple one, and one that is still being written.
It started simply as one man’s calling to paint clouds and
put them in crosses, and another man’s desire to help fund
that calling.
Several long walks along the shores of Laguna Beach, many coffees
and Chai, and meetings at the artist studio, slowly revealed a different
vision. Piece by piece, the corporate vision took form as a vehicle
that could benefit the community of faith based visual arts.
From a concern raised in hearing the laments of artists who wished
to use their gifts as a form of worship, but weren’t sure
how, and if sure, had no educational or financial support from their
church or parish or synagogue, the Foundation for the Biblical Arts
went forward with becoming a 501(c)3 non profit art and educational
organization, with an idea to help.
The FBA is an organization born to inspire artists whom love God
as reveled in the Bible - and to help illuminate those of the faith
who, though not artists themselves, appreciate the visual arts,
and know little about art as it relates to praise or worship.
July of 2002, the Foundation for the Biblical Arts became an official
Non Profit Corporation.
August, 2002, the Art Support Program of the FBA was launched with
the co-sponsoring of the art show, “CLOUD
FORMS divine mystery”. This show made available the
first paintings by artist Jeff LeFever in preparation for the Freedom
ART Project.
This is the simple history, and only the beginning.
We expect the history will grow to be fascinating and rich. We
invite you to participate and dare you not to be inspired. Look
through the web site and find what interests you. Be a part of this
history in the making.
