In
the warm Pacific Ocean water, submitting to the current
- free-floating, face down,bobbing, dragging, listening
to the pitch rise as each wave approached - standing at
the last possible moment prior to being blanketed in white
foam - submitting into nature has a sweetness - letting
it surround me - a union that nourishes my soul - slows
me down from my fast pace - awakens my senses to a simple
natural beauty.
A
longing for white water kayaking calls me again and I wonder
why won't I leave Laguna? This trip to Todos Santos has
been great relief form my life. Taking time to be still
has been difficult for me to do, yet, the effort has finally
been rewarding.
It
has occurred to me that with my last chunk of money, rather
than paint the prototype painting, I will produce limited
edition prints or cards of the painting color studies. At
$30,000 to $50,000. per prototype, not too many people short
of a church congregation will be able to be blessed by a
painting in their home. Only a few. The cards and prints
will offer a cost effective alternative for many whom are
touched by the artwork.
Note to myself - I
have got to take more vacations.
