Materialism

I am still recovering, physically from the Compaq walls. I guess that work marathon took more out of me than I thought. I have been reading the Bible and have gotten through 2 Kings. I have worked on a few sketches and am planning to begin the Genesis prototype painting. I have started contacting fabric manufactures and suppliers looking for material large enough to cover a 31 foot by 25 foot area - seamlessly. I am looking for samples to begin the test paintings. I have it in my head that I want to use the same materials for the tests and the prototype that I will be using for the larger paintings. I want to work out all the bugs in advance.

Well I have found fabric from Europe that is large enough (it is used for theater and movie backdrops). It is a heavyweight Muslin, but it does not have the tight weave that I want, and I am concerned for it's longevity. I have visited the scenic painting facility at the Sony Pictures lot and that was educational to see their setup.

So, I have looked into Polyester, Muslin, sail cloth, some weird chemi-cloth hybrid materials - I would have no problem using some wild, fiberglass - carbon fiber - kevlar and tar amalgamation on honeycombed aluminum panels - I am into that kind of creative experimentation - EXCEPT, that I need a smooth continuous surface on which I can silk-screen and not loose the detail of the Hebrew and Greek text. This is to be a monument, after all. And there are storage, moving and hanging considerations.
