Foundation for the Biblical Arts Official Launch.

Several months in the making, though still not complete, I am excited for the launching and further development of the Foundation for the Biblical Arts web site.

If she were a ship, the champagne would be cracking on her bow - a construction site, the shovel would be breaking the soil - a building I'd be cutting the ribbon right now.

The FBA has been in the process of launching for the past two months and its original conception occurred to me over a year ago. It has been developing for quite a while. I am excited because this will (or at least can) be a great vehicle of dialog and resources for artists, especially those expressing their devotion to God through visual expression. I am hoping it will fuel expansive and open dialog in the world of ideas and visual theory.

Reinventive depictions of truth filled ideas, incorporating a contemporary arts language – ideas such as the ‘Oneness of God’, the Jewish tradition of ‘I am one God’, ‘Trinitarian Embodiment’, ‘Transmutation’, ‘Symbol’, ‘Ritual Psychology’, ‘Reality of the Eucharist’, ‘The ‘I am” statements of Jesus’, ‘the Good News’, and ideas stemming from historical meaning of original language and metaphor -AND how would one express this visually - what mediums are available outside to traditional methods? These kinds of dialogs, and more, are topics to spur our growth, in dialog and education.

One of the coming invitations on the FBA will be for Coffee House Dialogs. That should be fulfilling provided knowledgeable, creative, and explorative minds arrive to participate. Then the discussions from the gatherings – key points – will be offered online for a continuing global coffeehouse dialog. The potentials are enormous provided participation and interest are there.

The FBA is a non-denominational, non-doctrinal, non-political non profit corporation, with the interest of stimulating intelligent and open dialog and learning amongst artists, and among those who appreciate, and those who support, the visual arts, both in and out of ecclesia. The primary focus is the biblical arts, because there is little available to support artists wishing to express faith and praise.

Gratefully, the Freedom ART Project is a vehicle for attracting attention, and the FBA has taken the responsibility to raise funds in support of the Project. Its help toward Project completion may be invaluable.

I pray God's hand is involved, and His people will come to see the value in the Foundation's efforts. The Foundation has now been realized from casual walks and talks, to an incorporated entity. I am sure we will be starting off rather slow, yet with our sleeves rolled up and our minds being sharpened, the FBA will grow to see a ripe old age, and will serve many for God's Glory.

That is my hope for the Foundation.
