Practice Paintings One - Three
(painting 1)

Without thought I have begun to paint clouds freely - letting my imagination go where ever it will. I have remnants of VUTEk prints that were being discarded by associates of mine. VUTEk is a printer system for oversize graphics, generally used for outdoor displays and for tradeshows. The banners for the Freedom ART Project are printed using VUTEk printing

I am testing the printed inks to see how they respond to acrylic, oil. Gesso, water, sanding, corrosives, etc. I have remnants on durable banner vinyl and other substrates... I have decided to conduct the tests while creating practice experiments for stylistic approaches to the clouds of the Freedom ART Project paintings.

I am documenting the process of development that my return to painting is taking. Here is a glimpse inside my studio and my process. My painting skills became dormant after almost two years of composing web sites, designing brochures and product, computer production for the Freedom ART Project. Aside from the large commercial commissions, I hadn't painted much, and certainly nothing of my own.

This is Practice Painting Two. CLICK on it and it will take you to all the Practice Painting of April 2002.
