Coming Home

I began painting today on the remnants of discarded Vutek Prints. These discarded remnants were given to me to test the durability of the Vutek inks to various methods and mediums. The substrates vary, and the paintings are all practice. Without a care for the final image but fueled by the curiosity of medium response to these unusual substrate materiels, I am painting freely. The expressions are cloud related to prepare my hand for the first painting prototype for Genesis. I am working on three paintings at the moment - the first of many Practice Paintings. These along with the Experimental works from last year will be sold in August to raise money for a trip I am planning for next Winter, to study the great Cathedrals and Museums of Europe. Perhaps in Europe I will find a greater apreciation for the Project and perhaps the Patronage it needs. If not, the education and experience will be invaluable to my work. It has been a dream of mine to complete all the great museums of the world and to witness the great Cathedrals.

Whith things the way they are politically and militarilly, who knows how long those beauties may remain available.

At any rate - being in the studio for just the few hours a day that I am, feels as though I have come home. Amazingly, I have not lost any painting skill over the domant years.
