Because the
consistent format for all the Freedom ART Project paintings
suggests refinement of thought, consideration, contemplation
– and requires organization, preparation – it
is apparent to me that all this leads to the loss of spontaneous
‘naturality’ – that thing that happens
on its own, and occurs naturally without human intervention
- has a wonder and a mystery that is, to me, an enticing
element to an encounter. I do not want the 'gut-primal'
(below cognition) reaction in my paintings to be lost in
refinement.
Though drawn
toward perfection and desirous of the perfect, humanity
is not perfect in and of itself. A refined and skillful
approach to the cloud sections of the Freedom ART Project
paintings, though visually stunning they may be, will not
have the energetic engagement I want – they will not
pulse with the life I want them to emanate - they will not
explode with potentiality – nor pulse with the music
of the wind. This is a difficult thing to achieve in a static
medium...
... but it can
be achieved.
These new works are reflections
of humanities inner sensuality, emotion, impulse and reverberation
– portraits of an inner spirit – our animus.
And if we are made in God’s
image, than these are a dark glass through which we perceive
ourselves and the mysterious divine - a energy we hardly
grasp.
These worksof the Freedom
ART Project,
require a "Cerebral Duende."

Duende |
The ability to attract others through
personal magnetism and charm.

lord of (a house) : duen, lord (from Latin dominus; see dem-
