I stopped to
let pedestrians cross the street, at a crosswalk on Pacific
Coast Highway, and looked into my mirror to see a small
pick-up truck bearing down on me. Realizing it was not breaking
- I hit my gas pedal to escape impact - I got to almost
20mph when I heard their brakes and felt an impact to the
back of my car. I am fine, but my bumper needs repair -
they were uninsured and not paying attention.
Had I stayed
stopped at the crosswalk - it would have been a different
outcome and a serious situation.
